Artists in the Rose Garden, takes place June 12-13, from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive in La Cañada. Wander through the thousands of blooms in the Rose Garden and meet local artists who have set up easels among the flowers. Artists will have works for sale. McGroarty Arts Center is hosting the American Ceramics Society Design Chapter for the 2010 Annual Ceramics Show and Exhibition. Curated by Brian Peshek, MFA, the professional gallery will include the work of ACS members and featured artist Biliana Popova. The Crescenta Valley High School class of 2000 is having its 10-year reunion on July 17. From 6:30 to 10 p.m. there will be a hosted bar, reception buffet and awesome door prizes. The event is being held at the ESPN Zone at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles. Verdugo Hills High School class of 1970 is having its 40-year reunion on Aug. 28 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.  The cost is $60 per person and includes dinner and music at the Angeles National Golf Club, 9401 Foothill Blvd., Sunland. The Little Landers Historical Society will present “The Debris Flows of 1934 and 1978” on Saturday, June 12 at 1:00 p.m. The speaker for this informative and historical presentation is Art Cobery, long time foothills resident and historian. This is a free program.  Everyone is welcome.

At its June 12 Branch meeting at 9:15 a.m. at the Oakmont Country Club current president Sheila Koster will hand over the gavel to new president J.C. Chauvin-Byer at the installation brunch. Dr. Peggy Renner, women’s history specialist at Glendale Community College, is set to be the guest speaker.
