Shop Local. Shop Montrose for
It’s so fun writing about the unique shops in the Montrose Shopping Park. These last few weeks I have focused on some key categories for the holiday season such as Fine Gift Stores, Women’s Clothing, and Shopping For Kids. With close to 200 businesses in the shopping park there are certain stores that are in a class by themselves. This week allow me the pleasure of sharing some unique jewels that would be good for you to visit. There’s only six days ’til Christmas. Perhaps one of these treats is just what you are looking for.
Merle Norman Montrose is celebrating their 20th anniversary and the photo here was taken just for you. Come visit the beautiful Merle Norman sisters for seven gifts that are wrapped and ready to go: 1. Kaleidoscope for lips (four shades of lipstick with a lip brush). 2. Kaleidoscope for eyes (seven easy to wear shades of eye shadow). 3. Brush Essentials (a brush bag with five brushes and brush cleaner). 4. Purrfect Cat Eye (includes their new Pro Pen Eyeliner, mascara, brow sealer, lasting creme shadow in a bag). 5. Polish your Pout comes with four lip polish shades. 6. Hussy gift set includes our new fragrance, a purse size fragrance and body cream. 7. Gift certificates that are wrapped on the spot with an invitation for an update or make-over.
Speaking of anniversaries, Baked is celebrating one year. Gee, it went by fast! I feel like I just wrote about them! These Le Cordon Bleu trained chefs always have something new and delicious up their sleeves. Have you tried their “kouign amann,” a caramelized sugar croissant? It’s a best seller along with flavored cream puffs in vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, pumpkin and eggnog. In the bread department, bread pudding, squaw bread and beer bread are flying off the shelves. To go with that they are now offering homemade soup. For a gift, try one of Baked’s custom gift baskets that can include their house-made hot chocolate mix, not a powder but a super good syrup, and homemade marshmallows. For Christmas they have discounts on a dozen kouign amann or cinnamon rolls.
After you indulge at Baked, head on over to Walk This Way where best sellers by SAS, Clarks, Naot, Ecco, Josef Seibel, Mephisto and more offer comfort with style. Owner Edna’s mission is to see that you have comfortable, stylish, and happy feet. To this end they are offering $15 off on any purchase of $100 and up for the entire month of December. If you are on Facebook, check out the pic of their new trendy, sophisticated ankle cut peep toe shoe and you’ll see how fashionable comfort shoes have become.
After all the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping sometimes it’s nice to slow down and have a cup of Christmas tea. The T Room is featuring its popular seasonal tea called Noel and you can enjoy it as you watch the horse drawn trolley go by. The T Room has had some famous visitors this year including Morgan Freeman and Kathy Hilton. All of us, especially busy people, do well when we take the time to relax, especially in a peaceful, quaint town like Montrose. By the way, if you are looking for the perfect location for your next party, The T Room specializes in private parties, including floral arrangements, cakes and favors.
Just a reminder, the Montrose Shopping Park boasts one of the largest, state of the art spas this side of Beverly Hills. At 7,000 square feet, Spa Pura is an empire of bliss. Try a holiday special package that includes a massage and facial combo, 60 minutes each, and choice of a rescue oxygen molding mask or 15 minute scalp treatment for only $160. Yes, Santa (i.e. Dale), please bring me that for Christmas! If you purchase a $100 gift certificate, you will receive a $20 gift card.
I hope I have inspired you. We truly have something for everyone! On behalf of the Montrose Shopping Park Association, we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Thank God for a place like the Montrose Shopping Park that we can escape to and immerse ourselves in the Christmas spirit.
Thank you all for being a part!
