Thankful for our volunteers

It’s that time of the year again: The Great Turkey Day or Thanksgiving to most of us. There are so many things to be thankful for in all our lives; please take a moment every day to think of at least one thing you are thankful for.

One of the things the Chamber is thankful for is our Past President Laurie Jo Phillips, owner of Laurie Jo Designs. She does a fantastic job every year getting all of our volunteers lined up for our very successful Oktoberfest.

I am going to let her finish up this column for me.

Thank you to all who participated this year in the 32nd annual Montrose Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce Oktoberfest. I would like to recognize our volunteers for their outstanding  jobs in helping run this event. We had over 300 volunteers that include businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals.

A big thanks to Crescenta Valley Rotary, Montrose Travel, Montrose Search & Rescue, Century 21 Crest, Property Masters Realty, Rossmoyne Construction, Butler Building Maintenance, Knights of Columbus, Keisha Wyman & Friends, Diane Stephens & Friends, Crescenta Valley Insurance, Dilbeck Realtors, The Soroptomist Club, Tilencounters, The ladies of Beta Chi Epsilion, Fast Web Design, Steve Pierce and CV Town Council, Bonnie Mortimer, Sunland Chiropractic, Mallory Kane, Arnie Wickstrom and his lovely wife, Job’s Daughters, Prom Plus, Robin Goldsworthy, Keller-Williams, Remax Tri-City, Dickson-Podley, Realty Executives, SIG Property Management, Harriett Hammonds and The Boy Scouts of America Troop #303, Crescenta Valley High School Students, Clark Magnet High School Students, Colonel Worley and his ROTC students, and  J’s Maintenance.

The Montrose Chamber cannot sponsor this event without the help of all these people.

Thank you and see you all next year.

Laurie Jo Phillips
