The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the fourth and final Art Walk of the year this Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue. This is a great opportunity for you to purchase unique original art to give away during the holiday season. All artwork is original to the artist. We have artists representing many genres in the art world: watercolor, oils, acrylics, etchings, photographers, collagists and more. There will be music playing for you to enjoy as well.

While you are in Montrose, it is a great time to start your holiday shopping. Many of the shops in town already have their stores stocked with great holiday gifts and ware for you purchase. Supporting the businesses in town is very important to the local economy and the success of our shopping district. I encourage you to look in Montrose first to fill your holiday shopping needs. There are many great stores in town that sell wonderful things for the entire family. There are jewelry stores, pet stores, music stores, women’s clothing stores, kids’ clothing stores, gift and home décor stores, a toy store, bookstores, shoe stores, knitting and quilting stores, sporting goods stores, a store for new mothers, a cigar store, a rug store and many hair and nail salons to help you get ready for your holiday parties. Please join the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce as well in recognizing the retirement of Chief Ron de Pompa. The Glendale Police Foundation and the Glendale Police Dept. will hold a retirement celebration dinner on Thursday, Dec. 12 at the beautiful campus of DreamWorks in the City of Glendale. The individual ticket price of $50 includes a one-year membership to the Glendale Police Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing, tools, equipment and technology to the Glendale Police Dept. that might otherwise be unfunded. This is a great opportunity to show your support to the Glendale Police Dept. They will also be introducing our new police chief Robert Castro who joins us from the City of Glendora. For more information, contact Sherri Servillo or Lusine Yarin in the Chief’s Office at (818) 541-3140 or email them at ChiefRetirement@ci.Glendale.ca.us.
