Compassionate care found at Angels of the Valley Hospice

By Eli LOCKE

Upon arriving at the office of Angels of the Valley Hospice, LLC in Montrose, one instantly realizes that they are in a caring environment.

Hospice is a philosophy of care that focuses on the comfort and quality of life for the patient who chooses the natural process of life during the patient’s final months or days. To achieve this goal, Angels of the Valley Hospice meticulously prepares a care plan uniquely tailored for the patient who has the final option to totally adapt and modify to the care plan as he sees it fit.   The hospice’s teams of caregivers are available 24 hours, seven days a week and consist of doctors, nurses, personal care aides, social workers or counselors, pastors and volunteers. The caregivers are there not only for the patient but also for the loved ones and family members.

Angels of the Valley opened its first office in 2003 at Montrose, servicing Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley and in 2007 the Artesia branch was opened to expand its coverage to the San Bernardino, Riverside and parts of Orange County. A significant aspect of its operations is the backup support of the Angels of the Valley Foundation devoted to building financial resources to absorb some of the medical expenses of its patients.

Emerald Argonza, the president of Angels of the Valley Hospice, said, “We are all going to have to help each other.” He anticipates the financial strain for most seniors in the coming years as insurance companies struggle with rising cost of healthcare services.

Angels of the Valley Hospice is located at 2490 Honolulu Ave., Suite 115 in Montrose.  For more information visit http://www.angelsofthevalley.com or phone (818) 542-3070.
