Being Great is as Easy as Serving

“Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.”    Martin Luther King Jr.

And the results are in! Every year the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce honors those that have improved the quality of life in our community.  We sincerely want to congratulate the following individuals that definitely have a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love;

Man of the Year is Neil Ryan, Woman of the Year is Camille Levee, Volunteer of the Year is Roger Young, Organization of the Year is Crescenta Valley Cert, Business of the Year goes to Allied Waste Systems, Student of the Year is Molly Shelton, Educator of the Year is Mat Schick.

The heroes that we are honoring from our law enforcement and fire departments are Officer Sue Shine and Officer Mario Yagoda of the Glendale PD, Deputy Marcelo Ruiz of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, Station #63, La Crescenta of L.A. County Fire and Officer Ming-Yang Hsu of the CA Highway Patrol. All of which are most deserving for all the fantastic things they do for our community.

On Thursday, Oct. 27 we will be honoring these individuals at a banquet at the Angeles National Golf Club at 9401 Foothill Blvd in Sunland. Please join us for this special occasion and to honor these upstanding individuals. Call the Chamber office by Oct. 19 to reserve your spot at the banquet. Dinner cost is $45 per person and you may also “sponsor” another dinner or table to help pay the costs for the award recipients who are attending at no charge. This is a great way to thank these people for all the good work they do for our community. Also available are advertisements in the program, which is another great way to say thank you.

We hope you join us at the banquet and if you have never been to Angeles National Golf Club, the view alone is worth the price of admission. It is a gorgeous club with never ending views of the beautiful mountain landscape. They are also open to the public for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have special events on Friday evenings, including magic and live jazz.

Remember, everybody can be great because anybody can serve. Come and see how the CV Chamber can help or come and congratulate those that serve.
