The Montrose Shopping Park knows how to set the mood for fall.

The Montrose Shopping Park knows how to set the mood for fall.

Fall is one of our favorite seasons of the year! The Montrose Shopping Park merchants are setting the stage so you can experience the joys of shopping in the best original outdoor center in L.A. Who else has over 150 “one-of-a-kind” shops, salons, spas and cafes encompassing three blocks? Our winding streets are full of trees luxuriously wrapped in orange lights. We are now adding fresh hay bales, pumpkins and mums to complete the look. Yes, it’s time to set aside a couple of trips to start exploring the town and treating yourself to pumpkin inspired foods, clothing, facials and décor. Pssstttt! Mark Oct. 19 on your calendars. We are planning BOO-tique Saturday with extras and entertainment for your “girls’ day out” shopping fun. Details will be announced soon at www.shopmontrose.com.

Where else will you see a horse head mannequin decked out in a vintage wedding dress? Only at Pattye’s Closet (2422 Honolulu Ave.), our premier vintage clothing store that has been entertaining Hollywood stylists since 1996. Let Renee Davila and staff inspire you with a Halloween vignette featuring vintage silver, candelabras, poison bottles and old time masks. They have just what you need, and won’t find anywhere else, for your costume.

Bye, bye Fat Dog. Hello, Basin 141!

Bye, bye Fat Dog. Hello, Basin 141!

Oh boy! Another brand new, must try Montrose eatery. According to longtime locals the Friedman brothers, Basin 141  (2265 Honolulu Ave.) is the neighborhood bar and eatery that will make you want to change your zip code just to be closer to home! For fall weekend brunch, try the cinnamon cream pancakes with applewood smoked bacon, dulce de leche, and cinnamon whipped cream. While there, check out the new design using reclaimed barn woods, black gas pipe beer taps, and Edison bulb luminaries. There’s a mouth watering food and drink menu for lunch, dinner and happy hour. Yes!
