Kiwanis to Host Music to Kick Off Holidays

The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada-AM holiday celebration kicks off on Dec.4 with a performance by the ALFie Singers (Assistance League of Flintridge Singers) under the direction of Nancy Abbott and accompanist, Evelyn Callister during the meeting at the Lutheran Church of the Foothills at 7:30 a.m. All are welcome to hear this group of singers who volunteer with the La Cañada Assistance League. This group has been performing for 20 years. They love singing for community groups and bring fun and enjoyment to all who hearing show tunes patriotic songs and the sounds of the holidays.

The club continues to celebrate the holiday season with a performance at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11. This musical presentation will be from the La Cañada Elementary School Chorus of 78 fifth and sixth grade students under the direction of Barb Drange. They will present, “We Love to Sing” with all types of holiday music. The Kiwanis presentation is one of six performances done by these children. They will also be performing at the Festival of Lights in La Cañada Memorial Park as well as the school’s PTA holiday breakfast meeting, two school assemblies and a school night concert.
