Glendale Area Alumnae Panhellenic Recognized as Top Alumnae Group

Glendale Area Alumnae Panhellenic, a cooperative association of sorority alumnae belonging to the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), announced it has been recognized as a top alumnae group for its service to the community and support of the lifelong sorority experience. Glendale Area Alumnae Panhellenic is one of 59 Alumnae Panhellenics to receive national recognition.

The Glendale-based group received a Programming Excellence award for outstanding activities and events involving their membership, such as special events, sisterhood programming, fundraisers, philanthropy activities and scholarship programming. Earlier this year, after their annual benefit luncheon, the organization awarded scholarships to 14 area young women.

According to some of NPC’s most current data, there are 193 active Alumnae Panhellenics. In the past year, community-based alumnae groups have collectively donated 65,552 hours of community service, raised $593,330 for undergraduate scholarships, awarded 457 scholarships and contributed $136,585 to community causes.

“We’re recognizing Alumnae Panhellenics for continuing excellence and service that they are providing in their communities and to sorority women in college,” said Julie Johnson, Panhellenics Committee chairman for NPC.
