Flintridge Books Hosts Summer Writing Classes for Kids

A teen screenwriting class with author/screenwriter Kathy McCullough for kids 12 years and up teaches the fundamentals of creating a screenplay. Class meets daily July 16 to July 19 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fee is $100. Class is limited to 12 students. Sign up at the bookstore.

Creative writing is for kids 10 to 13 years of age. Author Amy Goldman Koss teaches tricks and tips to make stories come alive. Learn how to build character and plot for great storytelling. Class meets daily July 9 to July 12 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Fee is $100. Sign up at the bookstore.

College application essay workshop is for rising seniors in high school.  Students will learn how to craft their application essays through writing exercises and analysis of successful college essays. The workshop will be taught by former Westridge college counselor and English teacher Kristen Kittscher. Class meets daily July 16 to July 19 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fee is $235.
