The following local students received SMU Multicultural Academic Achievement Awards at the 24th Annual Achievement ceremony.

Ricki Lubell of Glendale received the Award of Achievement. From La Cañada, Kira Ramani and Olivia Warner received the Award of Achievement. To be recognized with the Award of Achievement, a student must have a grade point average of 3.5-3.749.

Kristine Locker of La Cañada and Camille McCarty of La Crescenta received the Award of Excellence. To be recognized with the Award of Excellence, a student must have a grade point average of 3.75-4.0.

Brittany Kolb of La Canada received the Award of Merit. To be recognized with the Award of Merit, a student must have a grade point average of 3.0-3.49.

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs recognizes the academic achievement of minority students who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above.

The following local residents were among 1,594 students named to Biola University’s fall 2013 dean’s list for academic excellence:

Caleb Choi of La Cañada; Christian Misi, Joanne Shim and Sarah Yoon of La Crescenta; Eunice Pak and David Yi of Montrose.

Biola students are placed on the deans’ list to honor those with a grade point average of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credit units and whose cumulative grade point average is at least a 3.2. This past fall, 25% of Biola students achieved this academic goal.
