First time guests at the La Cañada Noon Kiwanis Club evening dinner meeting were (from left) Event organizers Matt Regan and Kyle Hara, Carly Naples, SBA Loan Officer, BFC Funding, Kendyl Young of Diggs Real Estate in Montrose, Chad Skrederstu of 168 Fitness in La Crescenta, Jenny Stern of J. Stern Home and Gardens in La Cañada, Joseph Moore, president of the Kiwanis Club of Pasadena, and Bob Reigel, president elect of the Pasadena Club.

Seeking to encourage new members from the local area who represent the business and professional community, the Noon Kiwanis Club of La Cañada formed a committee to create and organize an evening meeting branch of the club. The newly formed group will be a part of the Noon club and will be focused on local leaders who cannot typically attend lunch or breakfast meetings, but prefer to be involved through evening meetings.

A committee of Kiwanis members composed of Matt Regan of UBS Financial, Brian Fuller, a MAC computer specialist, and Kyle Hara of Hara Financial and Insurance, leads the new group. The club initiated monthly dinner meetings at Ocean View Restaurant in Montrose. Thomas Passanisi, 2013-14 president, leads the La Cañada parent club.

Recently, close to 40 current and prospective members enjoyed dinner. Five prospective members were welcomed and are considering becoming members. The new group will continue the work of the Noon and breakfast clubs by following in their footsteps as they pursue the Kiwanis mission of giving primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life; encouraging the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships; promoting the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards; promoting the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards; forming enduring friendships through rendering altruistic service and to build better communities, and providing, through its club, a practical means in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and goodwill.
